Dad's Graveside Services

On Wednesday, we will bury dad's urn.  The military guard will be there to play taps and fold the flag.  Dad was always so proud to be in the military.

Sometimes I think it would have been much better for him if he'd stayed in the military.  He left about a year after I was born.  Yes, I'm one of those military brats born out at Carswell Air Force base.

He was in the Army for WWII and then joined the Air Force.  I didn't realize the Air Force wasn't always a separate military group but combined with the Army for a long time.

It will be a short graveside service.  His brother from Seattle is coming down.

He had a good life.  A long one.

  1. Restland is a beautiful place... I have family buried there.
I hope you are able to have good memories of your Dad...and share the time with family as a time of Celebrating your Dad's full life.
These times aren't always easy...but necessary.

  2. Your father sounds like a man with a great love for his family and country. God rest his soul and, Carla, you will be with him again someday. May God hold you tightly during this difficult of times in your life. I am sorry for your loss.....

    In God's love,
